About the Project

Fusion People, a specialist recruitment and project services provider, partnered with the Blackpool Festival organisers in 2018 to deliver essential infrastructure for event security. Given the scale and footfall of the festival, a temporary but highly reliable CCTV system was crucial to support crowd monitoring, incident response, and overall safety management. The project required a fast turnaround, minimal disruption during setup, and expert support throughout the event.

Our Solution

To meet these requirements, our team designed and installed a dedicated temporary network infrastructure tailored specifically for CCTV usage. Key elements of our solution included:

  • Temporary Network Backbone:
    We installed a comprehensive Cat6 cabling system across the event site to serve as the backbone for the CCTV system. This network was planned with coverage zones to support multiple high-resolution camera feeds, ensuring complete visibility of key event areas such as entrances, exits, staging zones, and high-traffic walkways.
  • Rapid Deployment:
    The installation was carried out over a short pre-festival window, requiring precise planning and coordination with event logistics teams. All work was completed ahead of schedule, allowing ample time for system testing and verification.
  • On-Site Technical Support:
    Our engineers were present on-site throughout the festival to monitor system performance and respond to any faults or service interruptions. Their presence ensured that any issues were addressed immediately, avoiding downtime and maintaining full CCTV functionality at all times.
  • System Testing and Handover:
    Prior to the event’s start, the entire system underwent rigorous testing to verify signal integrity, camera functionality, and recording reliability. A full handover was completed with the Fusion People team, including documentation and support procedures.

This successful delivery highlights our ability to rapidly deploy and support temporary network infrastructure under time-sensitive, high-pressure conditions—contributing to the smooth and secure operation of large public events.
