About the Project

Central Middlesex Hospital, in collaboration with contractor ACL, required a structured cabling upgrade to support their existing CCTV infrastructure. The original cabling had degraded over time, leading to intermittent signal issues and unreliable video feeds—a critical concern in a healthcare setting where security and surveillance are essential.

Our Solution

Varciti was contracted to carry out a full re-cabling of the CCTV system using high-quality Cat6 data cabling. The objective was to provide a reliable and future-ready backbone that would restore full functionality and ensure long-term performance.

Scope of Work:

  • Survey and Assessment:
We conducted an on-site audit to identify and map all existing CCTV endpoints, cable routes, and termination points.
  • Cat6 Cabling Installation:
Our team installed new Cat6 data cables to all identified camera locations, replacing older or damaged cable runs. Routes were planned for efficiency and low visual impact, particularly in public and clinical areas.
  • Termination and Testing:
All data points were professionally terminated and labelled. Final testing ensured full connectivity, signal integrity, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Integration with Existing System:
The upgraded cabling was seamlessly integrated into the existing CCTV infrastructure, allowing all cameras to return to full operational status.

Client Impact

Thanks to Varciti’s upgrade, Central Middlesex Hospital now benefits from a reliable and robust CCTV network supported by modern Cat6 cabling. The improved infrastructure ensures critical surveillance coverage is maintained across all key areas, enhancing both security and peace of mind for hospital staff and patients.
