Overview
Corvus Building Solutions, a Loughborough-based construction and building services firm, required a complete overhaul of their IT infrastructure. With both office-based staff and field operatives relying on digital systems, they needed a reliable, secure, and well-supported IT environment. In 2023, we were brought on board to provide a comprehensive managed IT service covering all users, devices, and systems — both in the office and in the field.
Challenges
Before our engagement, Corvus Building Solutions had limited IT oversight. Devices across the business were inconsistent in configuration and security, with no centralised management in place. Field staff lacked access to a unified platform for documentation or communication, leading to inefficiencies and miscommunication. Additionally, the business had outgrown its existing email and file-sharing setup, creating a need for a scalable and professional solution.
Our Solution
We delivered a full-service IT support package designed to stabilise, secure, and streamline the company’s digital environment:
1. Full Infrastructure Audit & Health Check
We began by assessing all machines and systems across the company, including those used by field operatives. This allowed us to identify inconsistencies, outdated software, and security vulnerabilities.
2. Deployment of Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM)
Installed and configured Datto RMM across all devices, enabling real-time monitoring, automated maintenance, and centralised support delivery.
3. Antivirus & Endpoint Protection
Rolled out ESET antivirus across all endpoints to ensure robust protection against malware, phishing, and other cyber threats.
4. Office 365 Implementation & Intranet Setup
Provisioned and configured a full Microsoft 365 solution for the entire business:
- Created user accounts for all staff with appropriate license levels.
- Set up SharePoint Online to serve as an internal company intranet, providing central access to shared documents, policies, forms, and job files.
- Ensured secure, remote access for field operatives using OneDrive and mobile app configurations.
5. Ongoing Support & Helpdesk Access
Provided day-to-day support for all IT-related issues, with quick response times and proactive system maintenance to prevent downtime.
