Overview

Securitas, a leading security services provider, faced challenges managing and servicing a large number of fire extinguishers across multiple sites. The company needed a comprehensive system to service and track extinguishers effectively while ensuring that detailed asset information was easily accessible. The solution needed to streamline the entire process, from assigning jobs to engineers to generating detailed service certificates for clients.

Our Solution

Varciti developed a suite of apps and systems designed to address all the key requirements of Securitas. The solution included tools for asset managementjob assignments, and service reporting, all designed to save time, increase accuracy, and improve efficiency.

1. Asset Management System

  • Created a central database that can track over 10,000 assets (fire extinguishers) across various sites, providing clear visibility of each item’s service history, status, and location
  • Implemented multiple views and charts, allowing users to access detailed asset information quickly and easily
  • Added the ability to scan barcodes attached to each extinguisher to auto-populate asset information, reducing service times and improving accuracy
     

2. Job Assignment and Engineer Workflow

  • Developed a job management system that allows jobs to be assigned to engineers based on location and availability
  • Engineers can complete servicing tasks on-site using the app, which tracks work progress and automatically logs job details
  • Provided an option for engineers to add photos and comments during the servicing process for more detailed documentation
     

3. Certificate Generation and Reporting

  • Integrated a feature to automatically generate certificates once a job is completed, including a detailed report of the extinguisher serviced, the location, and the work performed
  • These certificates are then sent directly to clients, reducing the manual effort needed to generate and distribute documentation
  • Reports and charts provide management with insights into the number of extinguishers serviced, overdue tasks, and other critical information
     

4. Continued Support and Database Maintenance

  • Ongoing support has been provided to ensure the database remains up to date, including managing any changes in asset details or app functionality
  • Varciti also ensures that any updates or improvements are promptly addressed to keep the system running smoothly
