Overview

Roma Leather, a leading manufacturer of premium leather products, had been relying on aging server hardware to support their operations, including email services and Line of Business (LOB) applications. With performance issues becoming more frequent and the risk of system failures increasing, Roma Leather recognized the need to upgrade their IT infrastructure to ensure smooth, uninterrupted business operations. The goal was to replace the aging servers, move email services to Office 365, and implement new hardware to support their LOB applications.

Challenges

The main challenge in this project was ensuring that the infrastructure upgrade was completed with minimal downtime, as Roma Leather’s operations relied heavily on their IT systems. Migrating data, including emails, to a new platform while maintaining access to LOB applications required careful planning and coordination. Additionally, the new hardware needed to support the company’s current and future needs, ensuring scalability and reliability for years to come.

Our Solution

To meet these challenges, we implemented a comprehensive solution that involved replacing the server hardware, migrating email services, and upgrading the LOB applications:

  1. Server Hardware Upgrade
    We installed new, high-performance server hardware that would provide the speed and reliability Roma Leather needed. The new servers were designed to handle increased workloads and provide a more stable infrastructure for both office and factory operations.
     
  2. Migration to Office 365
    As part of the upgrade, we moved Roma Leather’s email data to Office 365. This migration not only improved accessibility, allowing employees to access their emails from anywhere, but also enhanced security through Office 365’s robust security features, including data encryption and multi-factor authentication.
     
  3. LOB Application Upgrade
    Along with the hardware upgrade, we upgraded the company’s Line of Business applications, ensuring that they were fully compatible with the new server infrastructure. This ensured improved performance and allowed employees to access applications more efficiently, contributing to enhanced overall productivity.
     
  4. Seamless Transition with No Downtime
    The entire process was carried out outside of normal business hours to ensure there was no disruption to Roma Leather’s operations. The data migration and server installation were completed in a way that ensured employees could continue working without interruption.
